Valentine Palmer and the Academy of Communication
Valentine Palmer has spent almost 35 years in the world of media and entertainment. His early career embraced leading roles in London’s West End, including Bill Sykes in “Oliver”, as well as many appearances in classic British TV shows like “Dr Who”, “Emmerdale” and “Minder”.
At one time a TV presenter, with a daily show from Birmingham, he was, for many years a well-known voice artist. Valentine later became a producer of radio and TV commercials, as well as making many training films for clients like BP Oil, The Department of Trade and Industry and IBM.
In the year 2000, Valentine formed the Academy of Communication to teach personal communication skills, including the development of vocal command, for use in people’s business and personal lives. The Academy has had particular success with its unique courses in Spoken English Improvement.
The Academy’s individual approach to vocal skills is much in demand by companies like Barclays, Morgan Stanley, Cisco Systems, Deutsche Bank, Abbott Laboratories and Hanson plc. These trainings utilise techniques developed by Valentine during his many years in TV, Film and Theatre and clients of the Academy of Communication come from some 15 different nations across the world.
